Building a Childcare Center for Your Children, Families and Community (Room WI Center 201 CD)

Because of a shortage of childcare options in the Frederic School District, young families were choosing to live in other communities or open enrolling to districts with available childcare. So, the district began a journey to bring quality care opportunities to its community. Now in its third year of service, the Roots and Branches Community Childcare Center provides daycare, 4K wrap-around care, and before- and after-school care. This session will discuss the highs and lows of the entire process and provide practical guidance for other districts to begin planning their childcare opportunities.
