Featuring law enforcement officers from the Everest Metro Police Department and school officials in the DC Everest School District, this session will focus on the perspective of a school resource officer (SRO) on how relationships matter in the school and what SROs do to help educate students and staff on school safety. Participants will share information on how training, routine patrol and technology can prepare everyone for an unthinkable event and the challenges administrators face related to school threats, the media and budget constraints.
