MEANINGFUL Community Engagement: Bringing Together the Whole System (Room WI Center 202 C)

We know the importance of a meaningful relationship between a school district and the communities it serves—the vision and values of how students are educated need to be clear and aligned. What is your strategy for engaging the public in a meaningful way? This session will introduce you to how four very different districts engaged their community in a thoughtful, creative and energizing process. Using a methodology called “Future Search,” each of these districts brought their “whole system” together (over 100 people at one time!) to create a shared vision and specific priorities that helped to shape the districts’ directions for the next decade.
