19 Sep 18
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Proposed tariff increases on products imported from China remain in the news spotlight, and PeopleForBikes continues to work with the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association to tell the administration how increased duties hurt American bike businesses.

The latest tariff increases proposed by the United States Trade Representative would raise tariffs on bikes, components and accessories by as much as 25 percent. If implemented, this change would increase duties on the bike industry by more than $250 million annually.

Join us for a 30-minute information session reviewing imporant updates on:

  • Newly implemented tariff increases on electric bicycles and motors
  • The exemption process for products subject to new tariffs (e.g., e-bikes)
  • How PeopleForBikes and the BPSA are fighting the latest proposed tariff increases
  • How individuals and bike businesses can join the fight

We are tracking the progress of these tariff proposals in real time and will update the material of this session as new information becomes available.
