The problem is that most staff don’t know the goal, outside of “work at a retail store.” Are we creating new riders? Are we changing lives through riding bicycles? WHY is the dealer in business? Why is premium customer service a priority of the dealership? Does the staff know that the store doesn’t exist without a human connection with the customers? Do they ACT accordingly as a result? The discipline to go above and beyond is EASY when everyone knows what the mission is. This rolls into a conversation about staffing, as many know the goal, but they run too understaffed to give the level of service they claim to be in it for. Getting jacked up on the goal only works if the infrastructure of the dealership is in place to support the mission. It’s a 2-fold approach, and currently a 2-fold problem. It’s NOT the internet… it has EVERYTHING To do with the experience created by your staff.
