Cars have changed significantly since the early 20th century. From hybrid vehicles, to SRS systems, to airbag locations, many of these changes are done in the name of efficiency.... but as a rescuer, they can pose some serious risks to you. Even if your agency doesn't perform the actual disentanglement, you should be familiar with many of the common practices involved in vehicle stabilization and extrication. After all, extrication and disentanglement is supposed to be a patient care driven process.
