This course is designed to address safety and medical assessment and treatment considerations associated with Confined Space and Trench Rescue Environments. Attendees will learn how to size-up the scene to ensure safety for themselves, their crews and the victim(s). Specific patient needs and specific treatment required for these emergency incidents will be discussed. Confined Space and Trench Rescue Incidents offer challenges beyond the basic EMS call, challenges to providing appropriate medical care and to the overall safety of all first responders on scene. Upon course completion attendees will have an understanding of the techniques necessary to mitigate hazards and to provide medical care at Confined Space and Trench emergencies. This course provides the tools and knowledge to properly assess the scene, the patient and the necessary treatment methods.
