Assault and violence events happen frequently in the prehospital setting. Join Joe Zalkin as he presents the North Carolina State Office of EMS and NC Consortium Against Responder Violence two-year journey to survey responders of their perception of these events, create of a web reporting portal for actual and near miss violence events, conduct follow up investigations and present best practices for responders. He will review survey results and case histories, including educational strategy to both increase awareness and reduce risk to emergency services personnel.
