**Evaluate this session**

Most EMS calls are well mitigated, uncomplicated and many even fall under the ominous description of routine, but many are very complex and require critical thinking skills. What you do in a patient encounter will not drive how you think, but how you think will drive what you do. This session is all about thinking and then doing the right thing for your patient.  This session by Scott Crawford will be a robust discussion of critical thinking in patient encounters. Scott will present multiple caveats that are both practical and useful for all levels of providers. Topics will include methods of critical thinking, avoiding bias and presentation of an algorithm approach to the art and science of developing an excellent emergency medical service clinician.
