Proper documentation is a big part of the job in EMS. Unfortunately, many providers never learned how to write a good report during their training. And the advent of electronic PCRs has made it even easier to develop bad habits. In this presentation, Dr. Wesley who dislikes paperwork as much as anyone else, will discuss EMS documentation from the perspective of an active medical director and provide you with the essential elements your medical director is looking for. The concept of pertinent positives and negatives will be reviewed in-depth to help you “tell me a story” which will meet the needs of the patient, the service, the medical director, and potentially the lawyers.
