Stimulating Simulation - A Deep Dive Into EMS Best Practice of Simulation Techniques (#E9881) (Room Off-site-MEDIC Facility)

**Evaluate this workshop**

This simulation preconference session will be an immersive 8-hour course held at the new, ultra-modern MEDIC Simulation Center in Charlotte, NC which features state-of-the-art simulation technology, realistic rooms and props, sound stages and audio-video control center. This comprehensive Workshop at MEDIC’s new $62 million headquarters session will offer participants the opportunity to experience multiple different modalities of simulation by multiple leading simulation and medical equipment manufacturers.

Participants will be offered a first-hand opportunity to see and try different modalities that can be used to achieve the same learning outcomes. The immersive education sessions will be powerful because participants will actively practice what they are interested in learning and teaching.

Although EMS educators have been using simulation as a teaching modality, often there is gap in knowledge about the fundamentals of evidence-based practice within EMS simulation. For this reason, a short, interactive discussion will provide an overview of the fundamentals of simulation to ensure that all participants, regardless of experience, have a similar reference point of the basis of effective simulation techniques. The session will continue to engage in creative ways to enhance the simulation environment for improved realism.

The participants will then take a MEDIC Simulation Center tour where they will learn how each of the spaces is utilized and what learning objectives are taught in each area.

After lunch, staff and simulation vendors offer four rotations (Outlined below). Detailed scenarios and/or instructional objectives will be provided to the vendor and a course faculty member will help facilitate the session.

Space is limited to 30.

Cost for this course is $275.00. To register, click here
