Securing Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) is a mission critical function that underpins every aspect of readiness from operational training to individual preparedness. FRCS includes HVAC, Lighting Control, Power Management, Backup Power, Elevators & Escalators, Security, and Life Safety systems. These, if rendered unavailable, could impact critical mission generation activities, pose a security threat, and create a hazardous environment. Further, unprotected FRCS can provide avenues for entry into other networks generating cascading effects. This session will provide an overview of recently fielded FRCS cybersecurity guidance and will introduce logic- and technology-based strategies to maximize mission assurance.
