The 2 Port shunt through measurement is an adaptation of Kelvin 4 wire measurement system using vector network analyser for measuring very low impedances, in the order of milli ohms. The method is becoming popular due to its importance in measuring impedance in various areas of electronics. In this paper, we show the theory behind 2 port shunt through measurement using VNA and how the inherent ground loop introduces measurement error. Finally, we propose solutions for this with measurement results. Key takeaways: Basics behind 2 port shunt through measurements, why there is an inherent ground loop present in this measurement, how to solve the ground loop problem in power integrity measurements
