Many state and local governments have not been shy about their desire to regulate all aspects of UAS operation.  Over the years, states have enacted laws and regulations attempting to limit who can fly, where they can fly, how they fly, what data they can collect, and what they can do with it. Last year alone, 38 states proposed laws addressing some aspect of UAS operations, and the pace has not let up this year.
In this seminar, we will bring you up to date about all of the latest developments in state and local UAS regulations.  The topics covered will include:
•          The latest state and local regulations and current trends
•          What are state privacy laws and how to deal with them
•          Trespass and state control of airspace
•          Federal preemption and what state and local laws are unenforceable
•          The authority of state and local police over your UAS operations and how to handle them if they come by
•          Authority of state and local first responders and UAS operations during a natural disaster
This class will provide an overview of the issues and legal concepts and is intended for novices and those with an intermediate understanding of the issues.  It is relevant to anyone who operates UAS commercially, particularly those who operate UAS in multiple state jurisdictions
