When it comes to pay equity, this inequality is painfully evident: women still earn — on average — 20% less than their male colleagues in nearly every single occupation. And equal pay is not strictly a workplace issue; research shows that equal pay would cut poverty among working women and their families by more than half and add $513 billion to the national economy.
