204 - Safety Leadership and the Power of Emotional Intelligence: How Smart Are You? (Room 361D-F)

This seminar takes us on a journey of exploring why we do what we do and how we can be most effective at it. A lot of our work is getting people to do the “safety things” we need them to do. People who choose to be bold are inspiring not only because they get big things accomplished, but also because they encourage growth, progress and movement in themselves and others. Through exploring our own emotional intelligence – self awareness, self regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills – we can set a path of professional development for achieving our work and life goals. We’ll identify some of these key strengths and discuss a leadership vs. management focus and approach considerations that are foundational to your role as a safety professional.
