Tracks: Research to Practice

Fatigue directly contributes to injuries and fatalities. The National Safety Council conducted a national survey of 2,010 employees, as well as a national survey of 504 employers, to investigate the extent of the problem and identify risk factors in the workplace. The results? Nearly every worker surveyed was at risk for fatigue, and almost all workplaces reported experiencing the negative impact of fatigue. In this session, we’ll review survey findings on nine employee-reported risk factors and six operational risk factors that contribute to fatigue and safety risks. Learn how to identify risk factors for fatigue and how to better manage fatigue risk in your workplace.
