48 - Introduction to Safe Rigging Practices (Room 362B/E)

22 Oct 18
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Tracks: Operational/Technical/Regulatory

Many industries use rigging practices on a regular basis. However, lack of proper training often leads to injuries – or can even end in a fatality. This session will address proper usage of below-the-hook devices such as chain and wire rope slings, shackles, and eye bolts. We’ll cover how to employ safe lifting angles, read load calculations, acknowledge proper procedures, and follow the necessary requirements to make a safe lift for both individual and group rigging applications.
