11 - The Multi-Employer Worksite Doctrine: Who is Responsible? (Room 371D-F)

22 Oct 18
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Tracks: Operational/Technical/Regulatory

The Multi-Employer Worksite Doctrine – one of the most often-litigated OSHA citations contractors are exposed to – is a tool used by OSHA to cite multiple contractors for a single violation. The doctrine allows OSHA to pursue penalties against not just the offending contractor on a project, but also the hiring contractor, any exposed sub-contractors, and/or any suppliers or distributors that may be onsite the day of the OSHA inspection. In this session, you’ll be advised on recognizing potential multi-employer liability at jobsites and which programs you should have in place.
