Tracks: Risk Reduction and Management

Rapid Response is a repetitive stress injury prevention program for U.S.-based Chevron employees. The program helps employees recognize signs of computer-related discomfort, encourages them to report early, and empowers them to reduce risk and make their health and safety a top priority. Over the past ten years, the Rapid Response program has seen over 9,000 participants. A staff of physical therapists, occupational therapists and ergonomic evaluators implement the four phases of the program: workstation evaluation, clinical screening, job-specific conditioning and discomfort coaching. This presentation will give an overview of the Rapid Response program and discuss its methods and metrics intended to resolve computer-related discomfort before it becomes an RSI that could require medical care or lost work time.
