2017 TechNet Augusta

Army Rapid Capabilities Office Industry Open Door Session (Room Lamar B/C)

The Army established the Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) in August 2016 to expedite critical technologies to the field to meet Combatant Commanders’ needs and deter and defeat rapidly modernizing adversaries. The Army RCO also seeks to identify disruptive technologies and apply them for military use, working with innovators in industry, academia, government, and other sectors. At TechNet Augusta, the Army RCO will conduct an “open door” brief with interested attendees. This session will describe upcoming RCO activities in more detail, including the path ahead for technology projects in Fiscal Year 2018, ongoing/upcoming requests for information (RFIs) to industry, and operational assessment opportunities. The main focus areas for this discussion will be 1) machine learning/artificial intelligence for electronic warfare; and 2) alternative positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) solutions. Other capability areas such as swarm/anti-swarm technologies will also be discussed. The intent of the session is to provide greater insight on RCO needs and enable two-way dialogue with traditional DoD industry partners, small businesses, and non-traditional companies.
