Track Three (Operating in the Cyber Domain), Session 1: “Leveraging Cyber at the Tactical Level in Support of Multi-Domain Battle" (Room Lamar B/C)

Cyberspace is a critical domain that will afford a significant advantage to the force that is capable of operating effectively in it.   The Land, Air, Space, and Maritime domains are expected to be increasingly contested during future conflicts and U.S. forces are confronted with the possibility of not maintaining superiority in any domain. In 2009, United States Cyber Command (USCC) stood up. USCC was followed shortly by Army Cyber Command (2010). Four years later the United States Army Cyber Center of Excellence, Army Cyber School and Cyber Branch all stood up to prepare for Cyber Warfare. The Army is working diligently to maintain the momentum it has built up over the past few years as it continues efforts to extend Cyber Capability from the Strategic to the tactical level. This presentation will cover the past and present of Cyberspace capability development efforts at the tactical level with an eye towards the future as the Army continues to prepare to defend the United States in this critical domain.
