2017 TechNet Augusta

Track One (Cyberspace & EW Capabilities), Session 2: "TCM EW Requirements" (Room Estes B)

Electronic Warfare and Signals Intelligence Requirements Integration.

The commanding generals, Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) and Intelligence Center of Excellence (ICoE) directed integration of electronic warfare and signals intelligence requirements at the 2016 CCoE and ICoE Home-on-Home meeting.  Proper integration of materiel requirements leads to integrated capabilities.  Integrated capabilities presents an enemy with multiple dilemmas therefore providing Army commanders windows of opportunity to gain advantage in the electromagnetic spectrum.  The Army is threatened in the contested and congested electromagnetic spectrum (EMS), especially in regards to both electronic warfare (EW) and spectrum management operations (SMO), collectively known as electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO).  This session will include an update on the integrated EW system (IEWS) and other EMSO-related topics of interest, and explore the idea of the EMS as warfighting domain. The TRADOC Capability Manager for Electronic Warfare describes Army efforts to consolidate electronic warfare and signals intelligence requirements into integrated capabilities.
