Software Defined Networking (SDN) is the future of networking as it is less expensive and more secure.  This course will explain the basic concepts of Software Defined Networks in a military/Government context. The course will examine the components of a software defined network, the communication framework between components, the state of current standards efforts, and the role of Open Flow.  The course will examine the security implications on SDN enabled systems including protection measures and new security paradigms. Finally the course will examine some use cases appropriate to the military/Government environment.
