EEO5-R | Complex Issues in Reasonable Accommodations [Repeat] (Room Sago)

9:45 AM - 11:00 AM

Tracks: EEO – Equal Employment Opportunity

The ADAAA greatly expanded the definition of employees with disabilities and reduced the need for extensive analysis to determine whether an employee was entitled to accommodations. Yet, trickier issues surrounding reasonable accommodation requests remain. How do you respond to requests for accommodation from an employee with recent performance issues? Does telework always have to be provided as a reasonable accommodation? How can an agency effectively accommodate an employee who cannot work because of chemical sensitivities? Using hypothetical situations modeled after real cases, Mr. Gilbert and Ms. Sumner will explain how to respond appropriately to the most complex issues in reasonable accommodation cases.
