9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
On August 11-12, 2017, thousands of protesters  and counter-protesters clashed in the City of Charlottesville, VA over the planned removal of a conferederate monument.   The resulting melee resulted in the deaths of one counter-protester and two Virginia State Troopers along with over 40 injuries.  This presentation will review the management of the fire and EMS response amidst the largest deployment of public safety resources in Virginia since September 11, 2001.  Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to prepare for, respond to and recover from civil unrest incidents.
