The presenter will perform an incident review of an accident that killed a woman, severely injured a state trooper, and injured a firefighter. The presentation will discuss the incident, short and long term affects including the needs of the department, the responding firefighters and the supervisor. In February 2016, the presenter responded to a vehicle accident on State Route 288 in a snow/ice storm. The initial accident was under control when a car crashed through the accident scene killing a woman, injuring firefighters, and severely injuring a state trooper. The presentation will discuss the incident itself and the changes made as an organization. Topics discussed will be mayday usage, PTSD, mental health support, workers compensation, NFIRS reporting and highway traffic safety.
