Tracks: Future of EdTech Educator

Second-language learners need words; technology has the power to provide learners with just-in-time access to what they need. When teachers leverage the power of virtual reality and hot linked images, they can help learners access more words, allowing learners to engage in higher order thinking. Every student should have the ability to undertake inquiry and demonstrate agency related to their learning. Images are a powerful way for second-language learners to gather information. Imagine the possibilities if those images could speak to students and provide them with vocabulary, authentic models of the language, and the right information at the right time for students to answer their inquiry questions. Through harnessing the power of virtual reality and other online tools, teachers can help students to access their most valuable tool: words.
