Get an introduction to computer science fundamentals for K-5 students, plus an overview of the Code.org online curriculum, teacher dashboard and strategies for teaching "unplugged" classroom activities. You will be introduced to free Code.org curriculum for K-5 classrooms. Content includes teaching students’ computer science through a sequence of puzzles using Blockly to program sequences, loops, functions, conditionals, events and variables. Learn to help your students develop the skills of a computer scientist with computational thinking skills like creativity, collaboration, communication, persistence and problem-solving. You will leave with an understanding of the Code.org course for K-5 students and be able to define the computer science concepts in Code.org's K-5 courses; manage your students' accounts; track progress with the teacher dashboard; and confidently facilitate Code.org.
