Makerspaces: Where Collaboration, Creativity and Learning Are Made Personal (Room Bayhill 22)

Come experience firsthand the effectiveness of creating makerspaces to provide hands-on, personal learning experiences for students of all grades. A makerspace is a place where students can conduct research, explore passions, collaborate with peers, think critically and problem-solve. This workshop will focus on creating the learning space, as well as exploring the tools and technologies used to create standards-aligned lessons, activities and projects that promote student engagement with an emphasis on the 4 Cs (collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and communication). You’ll leave equipped with lessons, resources and examples to implement your own makerspace.
