Future of EdTech Educator
When Laing Middle School was named 2017 FETC STEM Excellence Award Winner, we immediately decided that our next step was to help other schools achieve similar recognition. In this presentation, we intend to share what we have done and learned on our five-year journey to achieve the 2017 STEM Excellence Award, including details of specific activities that integrate STEM tools into daily instruction across our entire core curriculum. These activities include wearable technologies, app development, physical computing, and a variety of fabrication projects. We will share the planning template that we use to develop STEM-infused student-centered lessons, and how soft skills, engineering design, and technological literacy are intentionally incorporated as integral components of best educational practice. Our hope is to catalyze ongoing collaborations with other schools that share our motivation and goals.
