Tracks: Future of EdTech Educator

With precious time in the classroom, do online games in class sound counter-intuitive? Given the number of demands and learning objectives that need to be met, games may seem more like play than legitimate resources. But for students, games in the classroom can be interesting and inclusive -- as well as effective learning tools. Robert will share the evolution of his own experiences with games in class over the course of his teaching career, from initial skepticism to full embracement and evangelism as a 5th grade educator. You'll learn the value of online games and how they can enhance instruction, plus strategies for implementation. And what fun is it just to talk about learning games without actually playing them? Robert will make sure you experience the full potential of game-based learning through a selection of titles hosted on BrainPOP's GameUP portal. Bring your own laptop/device … if you're game!
