What does a Maker Space look like and how do you get your students and teachers interested? Where is the right place to “Make” in your school? What do you put in there? In this session, participants experience the Design Thinking story of a traditional, liberal arts school that has integrated Maker Spaces into elementary classrooms and transformed a former office into a Digital Education Collaboration Space for middle and upper school students to ignite and make their creative passions a reality! Filled with strategies to overcome possible roadblocks like funding, buy-in, territory silos, professional development time to the resources and the Maker Space tangibles that get students excited to learn, this session is essential for schools thinking about or in the process of integrating Maker Spaces into their learning landscape.
