Why is your resume so important? The sole purpose of your resume is to get an interview. With today's application software and increasing numbers of job seekers it is getting harder to rise to the top of the desirable candidate list. Regardless of whether you are looking for a clinical position or transitioning this makes your resume the integral piece of the puzzle to getting in front of the right people at the right time. A few years ago, I wrote an article about making a great first impression with your resume. Much has changed since then and it is even more critical to deliver a resume that is impeccably written, relevant to the position and shows you as the right candidate for the job. Many organizations use recruiters and application software so you may find yourself at the mercy of a computer, or being screened by a recruiter, or both. The more efficiently an organization can weed out those that appear unqualified the better. You may be the best candidate for the job and your resume has to reflect that to get you noticed. Your resume is your first impression. Don't settle for a standard one size fits all document because a potential employer won't. Make sure your resume is an accurate reflection of you and the skill you bring to the table. Bring your resume/CV to this hands-on, deep dive into perfecting your resume.
