Part 2
The Electrical Contractor Leadership 101 class is a 16-hour program designed for individuals with leadership responsibilities who currently serve in a leadership role, who may be transitioning into a leadership role, or a part of an identified “future leader” program. The program will be conducted on Sunday, March 26th and Monday, March 27th, 2017 as part of the NECA Now conference. The class will conclude by 4:00pm on the 27th.
The program will consist of the following segments:
- Leadership
In this opening segment, participants will learn about various leadership models and the important responsibilities and role that leaders play in building and running and effective and sustainable electrical contractor program.
- Organizational Culture
The development of s strong organizational culture that is fully aligned with the strategic objectives of the EC business is critical to building a sustainable organization. In this segment, participants will learn the elements that contribute to building and changing and organization’s culture.
- Change Management
Today, leadership and change management go hand-in-hand. In this segment, participants will learn the importance of change management and how to use the most common change management models.
- Organizational Learning
Organizations that learn the fastest are the best equipped to compete in the uncertain markets today’s electrical contractors are forced to compete in. In this segment, participants will learn how to improve the learning in their organizations at the individual, group and company levels.
- Leadership Development
Perhaps no other program is more important to today’s ECs than the ability to develop their talent and next generation of leaders. This segment will focus on the “70-20-10” CCL program for Leadership Development.
- Leadership Communication
The ability to effectively communicate in meetings, speeches and presentations is critical to all leaders. This segment will look at proven methods to increase the ability of leaders to reach their employees.
- Strategy & Decision-Making
In a VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Ambiguous, Complex) traditional approaches to developing 5- and 10- year strategic plans are no longer feasible. This module provides an overview of proven strategic models and emphasizes new approaches to organizational decision-making.
- Negotiations
In this last segment, participants will learn the basics of negotiations at some proven techniques that they can employ during the course of all of the day-to-day, formal and informal negotiations.
