At ACT Expo 2016, the City of Los Angeles led a large discussion with fleets around the nation and OEMs across all weight classes—from refuse to buses to trucks to passenger vehicles—to see what cities could do to accelerate EV deployment. From this meeting, the City of LA joined in an EV RFI in partnership with Seattle, Portland and San Francisco to pool the collective demand of these major West Coast Cities in the EV industry—this RFI was released in January 2017. Following on the heels of this meeting, Los Angeles invites government agencies and OEMs to join in on a follow-up discussion of what we can do to improve procurement processes and drive BEV adoption as well as the introduction of new vehicles for fleet purchases.
