Women in construction face challenges their male counterparts don’t, and this entertaining new session, developed specifically for National Pavement Expo, will outline how any woman contractor -- from owner to laborer and any level in between -- can thrive and advance in the contracting business. Tara Cheney will take you through her BEACH VIDA (Beach Life) approach to combining work and personal life which offers a lifeline to women workers and a fun look at how women can thrive in contracting. Ideal for businesses transitioning to Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) status, this session will address the intricacies (and benefits) of pursuing WBE and DBE certification, including specific steps to take, detours to avoid, and tips to help you navigate the process.
