Using Quality Assurance Tracking To Build A Professional Experience Portfolio (Room Mission Bay)

A discussion about how Historian, Maintenance Tracking and/or Quality Assurance (QA) systems can be used to support professional accreditation schemes in producing evidence of experience, helping professionals to build a portfolio of past work and capability.

We developed a system that allows us to stream individual’s blade repair data including significance of repair, quality of repair and number of repairs to build a certified portfolio to present to their company or Client within an accredited belt scheme, giving Employers and Clients with confidence in the quality of work, and your capability to perform the repair in-hand.

The reason we did this is because blades perform their function in a discrete manner without claiming a major role in generating energy, resulting in people not paying much attention in caring for them. This has led to minimal effort being applied to the documentation, insufficient QA tracking for blade repair, unquantifiable qualifications and lack of evidence for experience from companies and personnel.

This presentation discusses how we achieved this harmony between software and accreditation scheme, and how we can apply this to the industry for other areas, complementing an already well-established map of competencies to provide better transparency and confidence in specialist fields.
