Application of Human Performance to the wind industry (Room Paradise)

Industries such as aviation, medicine and nuclear power have experienced significant consequences resulting from preventable human error. These same industries have developed Human Performance (HU) strategies to reduce the frequency and significance of events. Many of these strategies, as defined by the Department of Energy (DOE) and implemented within nuclear power generation, can be adapted to improve both industrial safety and quality within the wind industry.
HU can be described as a model of behaviors for the individual coupled with the performance of organizational systems and processes. These model elements interact to achieve predictable and consistent results at the intersection of the imperfect human and the condition that demands perfection.
