Energy Efficient Polymeric Window and Display

We have developed a highly energy efficient electronic window shade and flat panel display using roll to roll processed polymer film. The window shade is installed in a standard insulated glazing unit (IGU) and may be used in residential and commercial windows and doors to enhance smart buildings as well as in many other applications. It has an industry low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.034 and is an order of magnitude less expensive than electrochromic and other "smart glass" technologies. It operates with high speed, is digitally controllable and may be produced in a variety of colors and designer patterns making it very user friendly. It has passed all of the pertinent ASTM fenestration tests. The display technology is reflective and fully sunlight legible and offers an order magnitude reduction in power consumption, weight and cost as compared to LED technology for Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) applications including large billboards. It consists of an array of pixel shutters which may be backed by a reflective surface which is independently installed and optimized for its reflective and color properties.
