Sensing and IoT Ecosystem: Opportunities at a National Research Library

28 Jun 17
3:30 PM - 4:20 PM

Tracks: Emerging Technologies

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a federally funded research and development center, focuses on basic research that advances the frontiers of science and translate discoveries into tools and technologies in science, energy, the environment and national security. For more than four decades, our experts have teamed with government, industry and academia to tackle some of the toughest problems facing our nation. The opportunity of sensing and complete IOT Ecosystem at the PNNL is vast and profound. Sensors, Connectivity, Big Data, and Machine Learning- all can contribute to create exceptional values in every domain at the lab, from molecular science to cities and infrastructure. So, what are the opportunities? How and what role Sensor and IOT industry can play in a national laboratory? The author shall present pictures of both current and future vision of such opportunities with various Use Cases after an introduction of PNNL and IOT ecosystem. At the end, Dr. Ahmed will also explore collaboration scope between industry and PNNL for groundbreaking innovation and how PNNL can work together for science and technology needs for federal clients.
