The job of managing a volunteer, combination, or small career department is not easy. Customer expectations and call volumes continue to increase while leaders are faced with more and more unfunded mandates, flat or declining revenues, greater training and certification demands, staff ability challenges, recruitment and retention concerns, vision casting, and organizational succession planning. Chiefs and command officers tackle all these issues while often trying to juggle a “real job” and family demands. This workshop addresses the management of multiple tasks and provides the chief or command officer with tools to address some of these concerns.
