Young companies with new technologies can face an enormous challenge convincing a utility (and their regulator) that their products can, indeed, make the utility better for utility customers. In this discussion we will explore some preliminary research on the start-up sales cycle including its average length, key start-up pain points and the subsequent effect on utility innovation.
