Utilities are wrestling with significant and challenging disruption as they lean in to modernizing the grid. The industry has, for good reason, 150 years of entrenched operational patterns and structures designed to provide power to customers safely, reliably, and at reasonable cost. Its DNA does not lend itself easily to alternative patterns and structures. Startups that offer innovative solutions to help make power safer, smarter, more resilient, more efficient, and/or more economical struggle to access the right leadership, decision-makers, and processes at the utilities. In this session, Liz Thompson from EPIcenter will explain tools and resources available to bridge the gap between both utilities and startups.
