Regulated utilities are beginning to shift their microgrid thinking and exploration from spreadsheets and one-lines out to their systems in the field. This session will present project stories from three regulated utility pioneers in utility microgrid development: Duke, ComEd and Ameren. The speakers will address questions such as: What challenges are they encountering through this shift to tangible investment? What hidden value are they uncovering? What technology solutions show the greatest promise? Do these microgrid systems even work? And, what could all this mean for the future utility business model?
