DISTRIBUTECH International 2020

All the Stacked Values of Energy Storage for the Grid (#D0423) (Room 217B)

**Evaluate this session.**

Some consider energy storage systems to be the “magic glue” for today’s grid. Energy storage comes in different shapes and sizes and can provide value in various places on the grid—from the bulk power distribution system to the distribution system to near the grid edge and even behind the meter. In addition, the benefits of these installations can provide stacked value. This session helps delegates understand the value that energy storage can create to grid operations, as well as the business model. Speakers representing Austin Energy, Portland General Electric and California ISO will discuss the role energy storage plays in their grid modernization initiatives.
