Updates on Acne Therapy: Nutritional, Medical and Esthetic Considerations (Room Exhibit Hall)

Acne is one of the most common presenting skin conditions seen by dermatologists and skin care professionals. It is important to evaluate the patient/client and evaluate for underlying etiologies or causes for the breakouts. Multiple factors, such as nutrition, environment, imbalanced hormones, underlying medical conditions, etc., may be implicated in aggravating the patient's acne. In the presentation, we will aim to show some of the most common underlying factors which may cause or worsen a client's acne. If one can identify the associated "root" cause, a treatment plan may be initiated for more targeted specific therapy in order to optimize therapeutic success. At the conclusion of the presentation, a chemical peel procedure will be demonstrated.
