The 'airline model' is often used when we talk about revenue or procedures in our jobs or meetings. Often there is push back – "we are NOT an airline" or "event tickets are not the same as airline tickets" – and while that may be true, are we missing tricks that the airlines nail? Pre-event check-in, the ability to easily upsell last minute premium seats or packages, or even to prove who you are post sale revenue opportunities, moving the third-party revenue out of our main primary flow and using the confirmation page as a marketplace?
