Dan Coats was confirmed as the fifth Director of National Intelligence on March 15, 2017. A former member of both the U.S. House of Representatives and, on two separate occasions, the U.S. Senate representing the State of Indiana, Director Coats is the first DNI to have served in Congress. In this session, Director Coats will discuss his approach to leading the U.S. Intelligence Community, the top priorities and concerns he has identified in his first six months, and his vision for strengthening coordination among and between the IC’s 17 members and its supporting contractor workforce.
