The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Biometric Identity Management Biometric (OBIM) is currently in the process of developing and procuring an advanced biometric identification technology called the Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) to help expand and improve biometric identity services. This presentation will focus on the following areas:  Status update on the HART procurement  Explanation of the scope and capabilities of the new HART system  In-depth discussion about HART's development by increment; • Increment 1 - Core Foundation • Increment 2 - Multimodal Biometric Matching and Full Performance Test Environment • Increment 3 - Web Portal and Person-centric Services • Increment 4 - Candidate Verification Tool (CVT), Analytics, and Reporting HART is being designed to leverage technology advances such as multi-modal capabilities and more efficient processing, and will provide a flexible and scalable platform to meet DHS's mid- and long-term biometric identity needs. HART is in the process of being procured and is on schedule to award a contract in or around 4th Quarter FY 2016.
